Police investigating the murder of Kelly Davies are appealing for two women who may have vital information to come forward.

Today, police have released a CCTV still of two women who were seen talking to Kelly as they walked down Market Street in Farnworth on 2 June 2012 at 7.45pm.

One of the women has short brown hair, was wearing a pink, long sleeved top and can be seen pushing a double pram with two young children in it, who are covered by a transparent rain hood.

The second woman has brown hair, which is tied back in a ponytail and is wearing dark tight fitting trousers/leggings with dark flat boots and a dark coloured top.

Kelly can be seen in the picture wearing a bright blue jacket.

Senior Investigating Officer Andy Tattersall said: "We are appealing for the two women who can be seen in the CCTV image with Kelly to come forward and speak to us.

"I want to stress that we do not believe these women are involved in Kelly's death in any way, but they may have information that may help us with our investigation.

"If you recognise yourself in the photo, or if you know who either of these women are, then please call police directly on 0161 856 9708."

Just before 1pm on Monday 4 June 2012, police were called to Queen Street in Farnworth by the ambulance service where they found the body of 31-year-old Kelly Davies.

A Home Office post-mortem examination found that Kelly died from stab wounds.

Joseph Davies (born 15/11/1976) from the Bolton area has been charged with murder.

He appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court on Friday 27 July 2012 and is next due to appear at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square on 19 October 2012.
