BUSINESS people who worked with Vincent Kelly yesterday paid tribute to a “great friend” and a “fantastic and genuine guy”.

Matt Tomkin, who was due to row across the Atlantic with Vincent in a charity challenge, yesterday paid tribute to him on social media.

He wrote: “Devastated at the news of the death in Nepal of one of my rowing team member and great friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

Another businessman, Mark Pollitt, of Lostock -based telecommunication firm DigiComms wrote: “Heart-wrenching news for all the friends and families of this tragedy. A local friend with a big heart for local charities. Absolutely shocked. A fantastic and genuine guy.”

David Ramsden, of Thebestofbusibness networking firm, said: “Sorry to hear such sad news. I didn't know Mr Kelly personally but feel for other people’s loss. Thoughts and prayers for you and his family.”

Doric developments was incorporated on November, 2011 and Mr Kelly became a director in January this year, joining the other director, Matthew James Riding.

The company was formed to look at possible property investments but has not, to date, confirmed any projects. It does not have any employees.

A spokesman for Haywood Chartered Accountants, which handled the company’s accounts, said: “We are extremely saddened by the news and are thinking of the families of those involved.”
