BOLTON’S first million-pound luxury apartments will come complete with hot tubs, new plans have revealed.

The two penthouses will have front and rear terraces, conservatories and three en-suite bedrooms.

They will top the 16-apartment development at 498 to 500 Chorley New Road.

Residents will also have access to a private gym, sauna, hot tub and steam room.

Bolton firm Neil Pike Architects is working with developer George Longden North West and says the £8.5 million investment is a massive vote of confidence in wealthy west Bolton.

Managing director Neil Pike said: “The developers have been looking for a Bolton site for some time and saw the opportunities in Chorley New Road for these luxury apartments.

“West Bolton is very popular, but people are very discerning and cannot find spacious apartments that are secure and convenient.

“This site is aimed at people who want large living spaces but not the responsibility for gardening and maintenance. These are very large apartments — over four times the size of typical apartments. The two penthouses will each sell for more than £1 million.”

He added: “The development shows the confidence that the developers have in Bolton. It’s a real boost to know they are prepared to invest so much money in residential property here.

“There will be no other apartments like them in North West.”

The apartments will have a modern interior with a traditional Italianate exterior.

And Mr Pike said there have already been some inquiries from potential buyers.

The three-storey block will include 32 basement car parking spaces.

Two bungalows near Ravensdale Road will be demolished if the plans are given the go-ahead. An outline planning application for the new apartments has been submitted to Bolton Council.

work could start next spring and take 18 months to complete.

Neil Pike Architects, in Chorley New Road, has designed Bentley house and Barnett House, both in Weston Street, and the tax office building in Churchgate.
