THE Rotary Club of Bolton handed over a cheque for £1,600 to Cancer Research UK.
The funds raised were from last year’s Ironman competition.
In this event, some athletes enter the event with the money they raise going either to a specific charity of their choice or to other charities.
Club president Alan Smith said: “The thanks go mainly to the competitors who have run for Rotary, the many Rotary people involved in organising those competitors and their entries and to the Rotary Club of Bolton members for their help on the day of the event which is greatly enjoyed by us all.”
