A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after falling off his bike on a hill.
The 34-year-old man was cycling with two friends along an off-road path in Tockholes near Cartridge Hill yesterday when he fell off and suffered a fractured right elbow at just before noon.
Bolton Mountain Rescue volunteers in three Land Rovers went to the scene and described the man's elbow injury as serious.
The man's pals called 999 and the North West Air Ambulance helicopter was requested, but it could not go to the scene due to fog.
The cyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance and treated for his injuries.
