TRAFFIC is building on the M61 northbound because of a broken down vehicle.
One lane is closed between junction six for Horwich and junction eight for Chorley.
The vehicle broke down about 3am, and Highways England said there is currently no estimated time for its recovery.
On the M61 southbound, there is congestion between junction three, Kearsley Spur, and junction one for the M60 at the Swinton Interchange.
There is also traffic on the M60 anticlockwise between junction 16 for the A666 and junction 13 for Worsley.
Public transport-wise, there are still no Manchester city centre Metrolink tram services between Deansgate Castlefield and Piccadilly Gardens and between Deansgate Castlefield and Market Street due to engineering works.
Engineering works are also to blame for the fact no trains are currently stopping at Moses Gate, Farnworth, Kearsley or Clifton.
Replacement buses have been running between Bolton and Salford Crescent since May and will continue to do so until the works are complete in October.
