MIRACLE Benidorm baby Freddie Jackson is back in Bolton and loving it.

The tiny baby shocked his parents in April, being born three months prematurely while the family were on holiday in the Spanish resort of Benidorm.

Mum Karla Hornby had been relaxing with partner Jordan Jackson when her waters suddenly broke and she was rushed into a local hospital for an emergency caesarean section.

Little Freddie weighed just 2lbs on arrival and his parents faced a tortuous few weeks as he tried to gain enough strength to be able to fly home.

Friends and family set up a charity fund which raised more than £5,000 to support the family during their difficult time in Spain.

Last month Freddie arrived back to his family home in Breightmet and his mum said he has settled in “perfectly” to Bolton life.

Karla, aged 29, said: “He is doing so well and he loves being in Bolton, there is no place like home.

“We have had lots of people wanting to see him and we have also spent a lot of time going to visit the people who sent us things and helped us out while we were stuck in Spain.”

Freddie now weighs a healthy 6lbs and 3 ounces and is visited by healthcare workers every few days.

Karla added: “They have said that everything is going well and he is following all the correct growth lines, we are so proud of him.”

His dad Jordan is in the armed services and is currently stationed in Oakham in the East Midlands but hurries home at weekends to visit his son.

In the mean time Freddie is being well looked after by Karla and her eight-year-old daughter Charlie.

She said: “Charlie absolutely loves him, she really mothers him.

“She was so grown up and amazing while we were away — it was the first time I had left her and obviously ended up being a lot longer than we thought.”

Reflecting on her traumatic Spanish sojourn, Karla added: “It is totally surreal — it really feels like the whole thing happened to a different family, not us — we are just so glad to be home.”

The family will be throwing a welcome home party for Freddie tomorrow at The Rocket pub in Breightmet from 1pm.

Karla said: “We just want to give as many people who want to meet him the chance to — he will be the star of the show.”
