FIREFIGHTERS were called to a disused mill in Bolton after reports the building was ablaze.
The crew turned out at 6.20pm to Halliwell Mill on Bertha Street to find a large pile of rubbish had been set alight in the yard and some in the building itself.
They extinguished the fire in the yard before two crew members were sent in with breathing apparatus to tackle the indoor fire.
The building was not damaged in the blaze and there were no injuries.
Bolton Station crew manager Phil Dearden said: "The crew was out for about an hour tackling the fire and made sure the building was made as secure as possible before they left."
