THE Mayors and Mayoresses of Blackrod and Horwich discovered more about the Bolton scheme that looks after hundreds of homeless youngsters on a special visit.

They were at the Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme on a fact-finding trip. The Mayor of Blackrod, Cllr Michael Hollick and Mayoress Mrs Janet Milward and the Mayor of Horwich, Cllr Ken Denton and Mayoress Mrs Sue Denton were paying a first visit to BYPHS.

They all offered to help promote the charity’s work, which helps young people aged 16 to 25 with rented accommodation and support in the community or via its own 39-bed new centre in Farnworth.

BYPHS director Maura Jackson said: "It was lovely to see them all and how impressed they were with the services we provide for homeless young people.”
