REAL Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward raised her pinkies at Asda in Altrincham to launch a national campaign.

Star of the ITV2 hit show, Dawn and her two daughters, Taylor and Darby, joined colleagues at Asda, in George Richards Way, on Wednesday May 25 for a ‘Strawberry Tea Party’.

The event marked the launch of a new charity campaign to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

Launched in 1998, Breast Cancer Care’s Strawberry Tea encourages friends, colleagues and families to hold a #StrawberryTea event in their homes, work or community to raise awareness and funds for the charity.

Dawn said: “The Asda Strawberry Teas are working for an unbelievable cause. It's really important to get behind the events because everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer.

“It can affect anyone of any age, so it's vital that awareness is raised, we support those suffering with breast cancer and that women regularly check their breasts."

From June 4 to 18, each of the participating Asda stores will host a #StrawberryTea stall with activities for customers to get involved, including cupcake decorating and a teapot lucky dip.

There will also be information on how the public can join in and host their own #StrawberryTea, as well as background about the charity and the much needed services it provides.

All money raised will help Breast Cancer Care provide support for women, men, family and friends affected by breast cancer.

Lynsey Page, Community Champion at Asda Altrincham, explains: “We are delighted to support with Breast Cancer Care’s Strawberry Tea campaign. The money raised through Strawberry Teas makes a real difference to people affected by breast cancer.

“It was fantastic to welcome Dawn, Darby and Taylor to help launch our local campaign today. Our colleagues and customers across Cheshire and the rest of the UK have always been incredibly supportive of our fundraising activities and I know this time will be no different.”
