A BLAZE broke out in the bedroom of a house in Deane after a mum left her hair straighteners on.
Three fire crews were called to the scene in Patterson Street at around 8.30pm on Thursday and spent two hours extinguishing the fire.
The woman's 17-year-old son and his girlfriend were the only people in the house at the time and both escaped unharmed. A neighbour who attempted to put out the fire with a portable extinguisher was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Crew manager Steve Green, from Bolton Central fire station, said: "The occupant had left her hair straighteners on top of a unit in the bedroom.
"The fire damage has been confined to the bedroom, but the entire upstairs is smoke damaged."
