TWO DJs have completed the bumper line-up for a huge weekend of live music at Bolton Live.

Jimmy Musgrave and Paul Thompson, known as The Vinyl Countdown, will perform on the first day of Bolton Live alongside headline act From the Jam as well as Secret Affair, The Transmitters and The Jade Assembly.

The artists will perform in the 5,000 capacity Premier Suite at the Macron Stadium and the festival kicks off on Saturday, August 20, at 6pm.

Following on in the second day are headliners, chart-topping Scouting For Girls.

The English pop rock band will be supported by solo singer Ellie Dibben, Bolton-based rock band Alex James and the Sound as well as Reverend and the Makers, The Brew and France.

Damian Chadwick, venue controller at Macron Stadium, said: "We’re delighted to confirm the final act for Bolton Live.

"We’re really impressed with both days and we can’t wait for August 20 to start.

"There really is something for everybody, tickets are selling well so I’d urge everybody to purchase one so they aren’t left disappointed."

From the Jam, which features Bruce Foxton, the original bassist in The Jam, will top Saturday’s bumper bill and the chief support act will be mod legends Secret Affair, who perform mod revival, power pop and soul genres of music.

Their debut single Time for Action sold more than 200,000 copies and reached number 13 in the UK chart.

Bolton’s The Jade Assembly and The Transmitters complete Saturday’s full line-up.

Scouting For Girls, who have had UK number ones are the headline act for Sunday and they’ll be supported by Reverend and the Makers, who have supported the likes of Oasis and Arctic Monkeys on tour.

British rock band The Brew, who have played across a whole host of venues throughout Europe will also perform as will Rochdale-based France, a three-piece indie/pop outfit. Rising country star Ellie Dibben was just 11 when she was first heard on BBC radio is also on the bill and rounding off the day will be Alex James and the Sound are one of the most exciting new alternative rock bands to emerge from the UK in 2016.
