A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the M61 this afternoon.
The man, who is thought to be in his early 50s, was taken to Salford Royal Hospital after the crash, which happened at 12.45pm. It is not yet known how serious his injuries are.
The collision, which happened between junctions one and two on the southbound carriageway, involved a motorbike and two cars.
Drivers are being warned to expect long delays on the M61 following the incident, which closed two lanes of the motorway.
