THESE twinkle toed tiny tots have been putting on their tutus and raising thousands of pounds for a baby charity.

More than 400 local young members of Babyballet joined others from around the country to stage a danceathon in aid of Tommy’s, the organisation which researches into the causes of miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth.

Each of the little boys and girls, aged between six months and six years, was sponsored to take part in the danceathon, which saw them dancing and performing a story about going with Peppa Pig and George to see the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

Babyballet leader Michelle Thomas has been holding the danceathon at her

classes at Bolton Essa Academy, as well as Ramsbottom, Prestwich, Radcliffe and Little Lever.

And so far, across the country the little dancers have raised more than £228,000 for the charity.

It is the first time Babyballet has linked up with Tommy’s to hold a danceathon and Mrs Thomas is confident it won’t be the last.

She was delighted when Babyballet chose Tommy’s to support.

“I got into Babyballet after I had a stillbirth,” she said.

“So it made me feel like it was a lot more important — it was personal to me.”

The baby dancers pictured here with their teacher, Natalie Davenport, certainly had fun at the danceathon.

Mrs Thomas said: “It just shows you are never to young to do fundraising, “ said Mrs Thomas. We even had six-month-old babies joining in with their mummies. It was amazing.”
