SHOPPERS are being urged to support Small Business Saturday at Bolton’s Crompton Place this weekend.

Falling on the first Saturday in December, the day is an annual recognition of the key role that small businesses play in the communities they serve, their importance to the national retail sector, and their significance to local economies.

Paula Wood, centre manager at Crompton Place, said: “We really believe in supporting small businesses.

"One of the many things we pride ourselves on here at Crompton Place is the range of retail options our shoppers have and our small businesses are a key part of that mix.

"We know that small businesses make a big difference and as well as being an important part of the shopping options at the centre, they also play a crucial role in the community through creation of jobs and their contribution to Bolton’s economy.

“We have a great range of small businesses, some of whom have been here for years and some that are new but already have a devoted following.

“As the festive season progresses we really encourage our shoppers to support the stores across the centre and Small Business Saturday is the perfect time to do that.”
