MP Chris Green will be lining up at the start line at this year’s London Marathon – to raise funds for Bolton Hospice.
Mr Green who represents Bolton west ran the Bolton Half Marathon last year and has taken part in two marathons before. He will be running the world-famous 26.2-mile course along with thousands of others on Sunday, April 23.
His charity of choice is Bolton Hospice and he is urging local people to sponsor him to help support the cause.
The MP commented: “I’m really pleased to be running in the London Marathon, raising funds for such a fantastic charity.
“Bolton Hospice provides amazing support and care for so many people and I know it is a charity that is very close to the hearts of many people living in Bolton west.
“Every penny raised makes a difference to the charity’s work so please do sponsor me if you can.”
Bolton Hospice Giving Manager Stephanie Lacaille added: “It’s wonderful that Chris has chosen Bolton Hospice as his charity, especially in the year when we are marking 25 years of caring for local people.
“Even though we get some funding towards our running costs, we still need to raise £3.2 million each year to keep our vital services running which is why the support of the local community is so important.
“We would like to thank Chris for thinking of us and wish him the best of luck.”
The Bolton Half Marathon, which Mr Green ran in was brought back last year.
