THE annual celebration of independent record stores saw fans from Bolton flock to get their hands on exclusive records.
The tenth Record Store Day took place on Saturday and with vinyl enjoying a renaissance around the country, X-Records, in Bridge Street, opened its doors with more than 500 records exclusively available on the day.
Exclusive records this year included a re-release of The Beatles’ Penny Lane single, an edition of an Elton John live studio session and a number of Prince singles.
More than 200 indepedent record shops across the UK got together to celebrate all things vinyl for Record Store Day.
Owner Steve Meekings said that for X-Records it is was the biggest day of the year in terms of making money and how busy the shop is. Artists with featured releases included U2 and Toto.
