POLICE are investigating a string of suspected arson attacks in Daubhill.

Fire crews from Bolton tackled a number of blazes within a half mile radius of each other at around 2am.

Firefighters received reports of a blue Vauxhall Zafira on fire in Sheringham Place, to the rear of a property.

Rubbish was also set alight in Brandwood Street, before crews were called to Sandon Street, to reports of a tree on fire.

Watch manager Tony Mckenna said: “All three fires were within half a mile of each other and all took place between 2am and 2.15am.

“The owner of the car was in attendance when we arrived to the first fire and police are now investigating.

“There are CCTV cameras in the area to help officers with their enquiries.”
