HOSPITAL staff in Bolton who have helped those affected by the Manchester bomb welcomed a special visitor.

The Bishop of Bolton held an emotional meeting with NHS staff at the Royal Bolton Hospital who had treated victims of the Manchester bombing, reassuring them of his continued prayers.

He also talked about prayer, peace and justice with members of the Makka Mosque.

The Bishop of Bolton, Mark Ashcroft, is spending 10 days on a prayer pilgrimage across the region as part of Thy Kingdom Come.

He began the day on Saturday in Bolton town centre, reflecting on the tributes laid in memory of the victims of the Manchester bombing, and talking to shoppers on the streets and in the Market Hall.

From there Bishop Mark walked to the Makka Mosque where he was greeted by the leaders.

A spokesperson from the church said : “Friendly discussions about prayer, justice and peace followed. There was a great deal of goodwill and kindness between members of the Mosque and the bishop.”

Bishop Mark met privately with members of hospital staff who have treated and cared for patients injured by the bomb attack, listening to their very moving stories, sharing in their concerns and offering reassurances of continued prayer.
