IT WAS a case of everything wicked this way comes in The Market Place this afternoon.

Shoppers were spellbound as a zombie flash mob took over the ground floor of the shopping centre.

The Bolton News:

Dancers from Bolton Dance and Performing Arts College appeared in the midst of shoppers in front of cafe Creams to perform a six minute routine to Michael Jackson's creepy classic Thriller.

The Bolton News:

Teresa Harper, founder of the college, said: "We've had just a couple of lessons to prepare for this because we had our annual show at the weekend.

"We had one rehearsal on Tuesday and then Thursday morning.

"They've all done really well considering."

The Bolton News:

The 25-strong dance troupe performed with spooktacular make up and ripped clothing and when their dance finished shoppers happily applauded their efforts.

The Bolton News:

Miss Harper said: "They all loved getting ready and doing their make up. I think it went down really well and we have all enjoyed it. Doing a flash mob is just a little bit different to doing a normal show."

She added: "One of the challenges was finding a routine that was suitable for all the different ages we have, we wanted to include the younger ones and the adults. We wanted to find something for all the ages."

The zombie flash mob was not the only eerie entertainment on offer at The Market Place this afternoon, GAME had set up their Virtual Reality (VR) headsets to offer adults a creepy zombie experience using Resident Evil 7s kitchen demo.

There were VR shark experiences, a luge ride and shoot out games for children to try too.

Even younger children were catered for this afternoon too with an arts and crafts table set up for little witches and warlocks to make their hats and capes.
