AS most people were getting into work, 50 runners were lining up to take part in one hell of a challenge!
Runners from across the country and abroad took part in the first day of the Hell of a Hill Challenge in Rivington, in which runners are challenged to run a marathon. Some even complete five in as many days.
Just after 2pm yesterday, eight runners had completed a marathon, with the first finishing in three hours and 52 minutes.
Race director Philip Ecclestone said: “We have runners from all over, including from France. It is one of the most difficult courses and definitely a challenge.”
Around 38 are hoping to complete all five marathons. This is the fifth year the event has been held in Bolton, organised by Time2Run.
