A GIRL has been taken to hospital after she was involved in a collision in Bolton yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to Crompton Way, near Hall i’th’ Wood, just before 4pm of a reports of a pedestrian was hit by a car.

An ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended. The girl was treated for a head injury and was then taken to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.

Bolton firefighters were also on the scene near Bolton North Fire Station.

The road was closed to traffic for nearly three hours.

A motorist who had just passed the scene said: “There is an ambulance and fire engine on the scene now.

“The traffic is gridlocked as the road is blocked. I don’t know what has happened.”
