A WARNING has been issued over snow, ice and rain expected in Bolton over the coming days.

The Met Office has issued a weather warning for snow and ice and another for wind set to come into action over the coming days.

The yellow alert for snow and ice runs from 4am tomorrow (Tuesday) until 11am on Wednesday and covers much of the north of England.

People are being warned that showers will turn to sleet, snow and hail late tonight across northern England.

The Met Office said there is a possibility of delays to travel and some roads and pavements will turn icy, with an increased likelihood of some accidents and injuries.

The area is also expected to be battered by strong winds and another yellow warning is in place to run from 9pm on Wednesday until 1pm on Thursday.
