HOW’S this for a new angle on Bolton’s iconic town hall?

These fantastic drone images were taken by 22-year-old Bolton News Camera Club member, Nazim Malji.

Mr Malji works for Bolton at Home and progressed to drone photography through a passion for cars.

The Astley Bridge resident said: “I started going on drives in the countryside with my friends and I really wanted to record them because of the views, so I bought a GoPro camera.

“I played about with it and recorded myself repairing a few boilers at work, then used it when we went on our weekly drives by mounting it at the front of the car while driving through countryside.

“I upgraded it by getting a stabiliser and a DSLR camcorder which I started to make stance car videos. I then bought a DJI Mavic Pro drone, which was quite expensive but well worth it considering the footage I can get.

“I followed a few Bolton pages on Facebook and saw a lot of country side pictures, so I thought I’d do the same but with a drone, as it would be something different and would stand out.”

Mr Malji’s images were taken in January and February 2018.

He added: “I’m hoping to do another video of the town hall once the weather brightens up as I took it whilst it was raining, hence the blurry footage.

“I’ve made a lot of videos, mainly in the automotive area, but I’m planning to do more of the countryside from now on.”
