THE elevator in the NCP Octagon car park is going to be out of service for weeks.

The company which owns the car park is modernising the lift equipment and the work is expected to take around seven or eight weeks to complete.

Drivers using the car park in Coronation Street have been asked not to park their cars in the bays on levels two and three in a bid to keep them free for disabled people, parents with young children and others who may need to use them.

Work to modernise the lift system began on Wednesday and signs have been put up around the car park to remind drivers where they should park.
