A TAKEAWAY customer took money from the till after being refused a refund.

Bolton Crown Court heard how, on November 19 last year, Ibrahim Kabbah went to Shahs on High Bridge Street, Bolton.

Andrew Evans, prosecuting, said he was complaining about chicken being off and demanding money back.

But when staff refused, Kabbah, who is in the final year of a sports science degree, went round the back of the counter to continue the argument and opened the till.

The second time he opened the till he took out a note, which was taken off him again and he then ran off. Kabbah, aged 23, of Marld Crescent, Bolton, pleaded guilty to burglary.

Andrew Costello, defending, said that after completing his studies Kabbah hopes to join the Army as a PT instructor.

The Honorary Recorder of Bolton, Judge Timothy Clayson, sentenced Kabbah to a community order for 12 months and ordered that he undertake 40 hours on unpaid work.

He told Kabbah: “This was just, I think, a piece of bad judgement. You need to keep mistakes to a minimum, that way you will have a successful career.”
