BOLTON's Teenage Market will return this weekend.

The market gives young entrepreneurs, aged 13 to 25, an opportunity to showcase their business ideas.

The Teenage Market is a nationwide initiative set up by teenage brothers Joe and Tom Barratt from Stockport as a way to support local young people and transform town centres.

Bolton Council held its first teenage market in 2016 and, following its success, organised a further four with the brothers.

About 30 independent entrepreneurs will be selling items ranging from home-made slime and jewellery to cakes, coffee and arts and crafts in Victoria Square, from 10am to 4pm.

Bolton FM will compere the event and visitors can also try their hand at sports including football and boxing.

Assistant director of community services, Donna Ball, said: "The Teenage Market has been so successful in Bolton and we am delighted that it’s back again.

“There’s plenty on offer tomorrow with everything from slime and cakes to a children’s coffee shop.

“I am delighted that we are once again giving young people a free platform to showcase their business talents and creative skills.”

Co-creator of The Teenage Market, Joe Barratt, added: “We are delighted that Bolton Council is holding these markets and supporting young people.”
