A SCHOOL could soon have a new 3G all-weather sports pitch.

Kearsley Academy has made a planning application to build the facility at its Springfield Road campus.

The pitch, which is to be mainly used for football, would feature ball-stop fencing and floodlighting.

The proposal also includes a new grass pitch next to the 3G area, which would provide a grass playing surface for cricket, athletics and rounders.

Officers have advised approval on the grounds it would provide “much needed” facilities.
