THE clock on Bolton Town Hall has been filmed going too fast.
A video showing the clock failing to chime on the hour, before the long minute hand travels five minutes in just a few seconds has been put on YouTube.
It was captured on film by James Redrup, aged 22, who was visiting Bolton from Watford on Saturday September 22, and wanted to hear it chime.
He said: “I was waiting to hear the clock chime. It was about two minutes to 12 and I looked away to talk to my cousin for a few seconds and when I looked back it was ‘five past’. I went back at 1pm to video it, it is very strange.”
A Bolton Council spokesman confirmed the clock was not broken and still chimed.
The incident is thought to have been caused by someone carrying out maintenance work inside the clock tower.
