A FLOORING company has secured a £1.3million deal with a London shopping centre.
John C Wilkins Floor Screeding Contractors, based in Gas Street, Bolton, is to cover 50 per cent of the new White City Shopping Centre in west London for Westfield Developments.
It is Britain's biggest ever screeding contract.

Screed is a mixture of sand and cement which is laid on top of a building's concrete foundations to allow flooring to be laid.
John Wilkins, aged 52, from Bromley Cross, employs 100 people in Bolton across two flooring companies.
Work has already begun to lay the 50,000 square metres of screed at the London site, with the job due to be completed by the middle of July.
Twelve Bolton screeders have travelled to London to operate in four groups, working six days a week to complete the job.
Mr Wilkins said: "We are the largest screeder in the UK and worked on 80 per cent of the Trafford Centre.
"We have worked for most of the shopping centres in the UK and also worked with many of the big house builders."
The firm has already completed the screed for the main Marks and Spencer anchor store in White City, meaning the total value of the deal is £1.5 million.
The John C Wilkins Group was formed in 1993 and is made up of three companies.
As well as the floor screeding business in Gas Street, it has an acoustic flooring and acoustic installations business is in Britannia Business Park, Union Road, Tonge Moor.
Mr Wilkins was a freelance quantity surveyor before he spotted a gap in the market for large scale screeding.
The acoustic arm was formed in 2005, when new building regulations on sound proofing increased demand for floors that reduce the impact of noisy neighbours.
The whole firm is due to move to a new 26,000 sq ft industrial unit at the Waters Meeting development in The Valley, Bolton.
The White City centre is being built by Australian firm Westfield. It will cost £1.6 billion and cover an area of 1.5 million sq ft.
Around 7,000 permanent jobs will be created and it should attract up to £1 billion of further investment, say its backers. The centre is due to open for trade in time for the key Christmas shopping season.

Glad to see a Bolton Company doing well!
Am less pleased to see more B(E)N censorship! Why can't we comment on the policeman who was demoted from sergeant? What was his name and where did he live? There is more freedom of speech in Zimbabwe than on this website?
