THREE businessmen are tackling the Great Manchester Run to raise money for the Bolton Lads and Girls Club.
Al McLean, aged 37, from Horwich, Phil Sofield, aged 33, from Ladybridge, and Paul Hebden, aged 42, from Cheshire, are all directors of Fourfinancial, a recruitment firm based in Chorley Old Road in Bolton.
They were invited to take part in the 10km road race for the Bolton Lads and Girls Club if they donated £200 to the charity. The team pledged £1,000 to show their support.

Mr McLean said: "We have been training, some more than others. Al is going for 40 minutes, while I'll be lucky if I finish in two hours. Paul should be somewhere in between."
The race takes place in Manchester city centre on Sunday May 18.

Bolton Lads & Girls Club is not the richest Club in the UK but we are the biggest. Currently over 3,000 youngsters a week from all around the Town attend and only pay 40p a visit. Without the generous support we receive from the people of Bolton each visit would cost more like £4 and there is no way the kids could afford this.
We also work with many youngsters who require one-to-one mentoring and with the help of over 200 volunteers we can have a positive impact on some very disadvantaged kids. The volunteers all believe in the work we are doing but need training and support to do this, all of which costs money.
Please do not judge a book by its cover. It is only through the tremendous support of people like Al, Phil and Paul that we can continue to support the young people of Bolton who are after all our future.
