What was your first job?

Apprentice toolmaker.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why?

Leonardo Da Vinci. Possibly the most intelligent man who ever lived.

What are your hobbies?

Cricket and most sports. Food, walking, music, art and visiting historical buildings.

What's your top time-saving tip?

Pay someone to clean your car.

What is your favourite thing about Bolton and why?

The surrounding countryside - great for walking.

Which past event has most influenced your life and why?

My marriage to Josephine and family life. If happiness could be measured in money, I would be a billionaire.

What is the one piece of advice you would pass on to/have passed on to your children?

What goes around, comes around. Therefore, treat people with respect.

How would you describe yourself in a personal ad?

Well maintained, in need of a regular MOT. Good listener, especially over a good lunch.

What does your typical working day involve?

Everything from breakfast clubs to customer care and speaking to prospective clients.
