What was your first job? My first job was a local paper round when I was 13-years-old, but my first proper job when I left school was as an office junior.

That would be Richard Branson, he changed my views on management and innovation.

I enjoy swimming and watching Wigan Athletic - should I be admitting this to The Bolton News?

What is your favourite thing about Bolton and why?
Without a doubt, the people. I have worked in Bolton for 17 years and I think they have just about accepted me, despite the fact I come from Wigan.
Which past event has most influenced your life and why?
Gaining my degree in management at the age of 39 and seeing my dad's face when I wore my cap and gown.
What is the one piece of advice you would pass on to/have passed on to your children?
Always have dreams and strive for them, one day they may come true!
How would you describe yourself in a personal ad?
Shy!
What does your typical working day involve?
I get up at 6.15am and get to work for 7.45am. I work with an organisation that delivers training to a wide range of people, some of who, like me, thought they couldn't do it when they started out. It is something I find extremely rewarding.
