AN apartment development on Slater Street has joined two other Bolton sites on the shortlist for a prestigious property awards.
The Mere, a block of shared ownership homes and rental flats built on the site of a former 1960s development called Skagen Court, joins St Paul's Court, a grade two listed Anglican Church in Garside Street, which was turned into social housing and the UCAN community centre in Tonge Fold on the shortlist for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) North-west Awards.
Spread across 3.5 acres of land, The Mere comprises two, three and four-bedroom houses, bungalows and apartments which are available to rent and to buy, either outright or through shared ownership schemes where residents can buy a percentage stake in the property and rent the remainder.

The Mere development is a partnership between housing association Contour Homes, Bardsley Construction, Bolton Council and the Ashiana Housing Association.
The Mere has a pedestrianised centre with a piece of public art in the form of an archway and a new "green corridor" which includes play areas as well as major new planting of trees and shrubs.
The development won praise for tackling the issue of affordable housing and building housing to benefit those people who are struggling to buy or rent property.
It will be entered in the regeneration category of the awards, while St Paul's Court is entered in the conservation category and UCAN is up for the community benefit award
There is an overall prize for project of the year.
A total of 47 schemes in the North-west are competing for the awards across various categories and winners will be announced at a gala dinner at Liverpool's Arena and Convention Centre (ACC) and hosted by Liverpudlian newsreader Peter Sissons, on May 16.
Last year's overall North-west winner was the St Peter's Centre project in Burnley, whilst other winners included Spinningfields Square in Manchester, the Solaris Centre in Blackpool and Liverpool's Ropewalks.
Winners from each category of the nine RICS England regions, RICS Wales, RICS Scotland, RICS Northern Ireland and RICS international heats will progress through to a national final to be held at the Dorchester in London in October.
Jennifer Welch, operations director of RICS North, said: "This year the North-west produced more entries than any other region nationally. From city centre offices to rural regeneration - the North-west is alive with exciting developments."
