YOU may remember that I told you last week about the trip to Penzance undertaken by 13 members of the Trafalgar Day Society, based in the House Without A Name pub in Harwood.
Regulars, who celebrate the famous 1805 victory on October 21 each year, stayed in the Union Hotel, Penzance - the place where the mayor that year made the first announcement of the news that the naval battle had been won and that Nelson had died..
Fishermen had heard about it earlier from members of the crew of the schooner that was en route to the Admiralty with an official account.
No Name organiser Dave Dutton had the idea for the visit when a friend told him about Penzance's connection with Trafalgar.
"It was a fantastic, brilliant weekend," he told me.
It included a special dinner on the Saturday night, pictured above.
The locals were very welcoming and interested to know that Nelson's historic deeds are commemorated in Bolton. The House Without A Name group were invited to join in Penzance's own celebrations this October.
However, it is likely that the traditional Harwood event will continue as normal.
Discussions are taking place, though, about a possible trip to Portsmouth next April to see the Victory, Nelson's flagship.
