IF you saw this page last week you might remember that I poked gentle fun at Yorkshire folk who tend to look on the miserable side of life.
It will be interesting to see how many people over there bother to see the latest film by acclaimed director Mike Leigh - Happy-Go-Lucky.
According to the reviews, actress Sally Hawkins is in award-winning form as an infant school teacher - Poppy - who is nice, chirpy and unflaggingly upbeat about everything.

You have to say that it sounds a different kind of film to the usual fare and I might go to see it if the Yorkshire half of me does not object to such a concept. Then again, I could wait until it is shown on cable.
