Coldplay is musical Night Nurse

FOR years I've argued that Coldplay were possibly the most boring band on the planet - and now I have proof.

A poll conducted by Travelodge (they of the utterly awful adverts starring Lenny Henry) has found that Chris Martin and co would be Britain's choice of music to send them off to sleep.

James Blunt, Snow Patrol, Take That and Norah Jones made up the rest of the top five.

Is it better to have sold millions upon millions of records and be the musical equivalent of Night Nurse, or to make songs which might not sell to Middle England but won't send them to sleep either?

Martin, Blunt and the rest are laughing all the way to the bank, and would undoubtedly argue for the former.

But anyone who is actually interested in music, I suspect, would opt for the latter.
