IT all added up to success when pupils at Harper Green School took part in Bolton Sixth-Form College's team maths competition.

The college hosted its fourth annual tournament with schools across the borough entering their Year 10 and 11 pupils - a total of 72 youngsters took part.

And it was the maths geniuses from the Farnworth school who walked away with the trophy.

The competition is aimed at secondary school pupils who are thinking of studying maths at A-level.

Harper Green School headteacher Phil Stewart said: "We are extremely proud of the success of our pupils.

"This is a great example of the hard work that is put in by both staff and pupils at Harper Green in raising standards at the school."

Paul Buckley, head of mathematics at Bolton Sixth-Form College, said: "We are pleased to be in the fourth year of our annual mathematics competition.

"Once again we have had an excellent response from Bolton's schools.

"As always, the competition was fierce as each team battled to take home the prized trophy."

Fank you.
