DENNIS The Menace and Superman were just two of the characters as pupils in Little Lever dressed up to celebrate annual book week.
Youngsters at St Matthew's CE Primary School enjoyed a fancy dress day to round-off the week last Friday.
The event had the theme of Reading and The Arts and youngsters dressed up as their favourite characters from books.
Kathryn Woods, Year 4 teacher and Book Week co-ordinator, said: "The pupils and many of the staff dressed up and we had a fabulous day.
"Everyone really enjoyed themselves."
During the week, children were visited by an illustrator, writer and an artist.
All the primary schools in the village took part in activities.
Jack Barlow, aged six, is pictured as Dennis the Menace, with Matthew Brocklebank, aged five, as Superman.
