YOUNGSTERS have been given water bottles in a bid to make them healthier and to help keep them alert in lessons.

Pupils at Castle Hill Primary School in Tonge Moor were given the bottles by community enterprise Tonge Bikes Ltd.

The not-for-profit venture provides cycling opportunities for young people, including mountain bike rides, BMX biking and courses in basic skills and cycle maintenance.

Children can fill up the bottles anywhere in school, as all its water is suitable for drinking.

The scheme is the latest initiative introduced at Castle Hill Primary to make children healthier.

A healthy snack shop has opened selling goodies including fat-free flap jacks, crumpets and toasted teacakes at break times.

School office manager Rebecca Heaton said: "We are trying to become a healthier school and water helps with concentration. This is the next step in helping children to be healthier."

well done castle hill!
I have to add that im amazed with how good and supportive this school and staff are. the procedures of security to pick your child up are of very high standard and very impressive. im amazed with the change in my children since starting at castle hill a month ago. The healthier eating is having an effect on the children, they're ditching crisps for a carrot! and toffees for raisans. hats of to rebecca heaton, fantasic woman, very friendly and a lovely lady.

How about FREE SPEECH from the BN itself??

Reading three stories so far tonight (supposedly with lots of comments)
Reading the story and comments removed.

Why ask for comments if the BN site is banning FREE speech?

Blame the racist agitators. And don't expect the BN to provide them with venue to vent their vicious bigoted spleens. Why should they?

More lies from Andrew "I'm a victim" Bury.

The only agitators on this site are you and your fluff Leroy.

Andrew Bury is an enemy of the UK and its people. A fascist guttersnipe with one intention. To incite and slur people with drunken chants of racist to anybody with independent thought.

Of course he cant prove any of his accusations and any concrete evidence would relegate the revival of Lazarus to amateur status, but being politically correct, thinks he is above the Laws of the Country.

Scum basically, who needs to be watched by the Security Services in the interests of National Security.

So you got a reason for why the BN chose to close threads . Remember I can't they can.

The comments were disgusting. As you well know.
