Vandals in racist attack on school in Bolton

VANDALS have smashed windows and daubed racist graffiti on the walls of a school which helps immigrant children.

They struck on Tuesday morning when they smashed eight windows at the Starting Point School, in Selkirk Road, Sharples.

They also wrote the words: "BNP white power" on one of the walls.

The school also works as a Pupil Referral Unit, where children who are out of mainstream school are educated. Starting Point takes in young asylum seekers and immigrants to get them used to speaking English and living in Bolton.

A Starting Point spokesman said: "We have reported this incident to the police and they are investigating."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 872 5050.
