Students resplendent in their caps and gowns toasted success as they graduated from the University of Bolton today.

It is a day of celebration as 1,000 academics attend their winter degree congregation ceremony at Victoria Hall to receive their award from Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr George Holmes.

He said: "The degree congregation ceremonies are a celebration of our graduating students' achievements. Their success is our success."

Each year the university holds two degree ceremonies because it has two intake of students, one in October and the second in January. In total, 2,500 students have graduated from the university this year.

Students toasting success? Makes a change from toasting pizzas....

One of those rare occasions that the word 'resplendent' can be used.

Now let's put it away until Christmas.

Congratulations new graduates.

The hard work was worthwhile.

the most clever 'students' will be the ones who successfully hide the fact they went to bolton institute from future employers!

how embarrassing

What a totally un-necessary, nasty and vile comment!!!! People have worked BLOODY hard to get their degrees and you, you obnoxious pr1ck, put them down. Many people have little or no choice about where they do their degree, many are done part-time whilst holding down a full time job, so it makes sense to study as close to home as possible. I did my degree at UCLAN via the internet, are you gonna slag me off for that then? I was working full time as a health care professional at the time, but I passed a degree too!!!!
Pray tell us, what qualifications do you have? No doubt mummy and daddy funded your under graduate study at a red brick establishment. Just remember, a degree is a degree WHERE EVER you gained it, it's how you perform at interview that gets you the job though lol.

no, a degree from Bolton does not have the same value attached to it as one from say manc proper, leeds proper or sheff proper etc.

agree though that how you interview is a significant reason whether you get a job offer or not.

Well played to them, I had my graduation in June and it was such a meaningful day.

At least their caps and gowns kept them from the cold, I was boiling sat in victoria hall!

Well going on you're assessment of whether a degree is of value, maybe only degrees from Oxbridge are worth owt!!!! Manchester Uni is a total bag of proverbial, along with Salford, I was treated as a child, and talked down to by people who haven't worked at "the coal face" for years. Thank God for UCLAN, tutors who listen AND maintain an awareness of the needs of the undergraduate. But then again, it's not a "proper" uni, is it? I don't care, I worked hard for my "bit of paper", I'm proud I did it, but it made not a tap of difference to my job, cos I'm **** good at what I do. In fact they gave me the job despite the fact I didn't have a degree, and funded it for me once in post ;-)

Don't need to kid myself you arrogant pratt!!! Know why I don't need to kid myself? Cos I see my wage slip at the end of each month!!!!! Yes, not too bad being in the 40% tax bracket, oh, and I'm ONLY a nurse, ah, but with a degree from UCLAN, stick that up your jacksy!!

You really are a total pr1ck aren't you? Nowt wrong with emptying pots of "p1ss" as you so politely put it, but I tell you one thing, you'd wait a bleedin long time before I emptied yours!!! Oh, and on the salary I earn, I haven't had to empty urinals for a VERY long time, it's called climbing the career ladder ;-)

‘todays’ BN news:

Nurse had ‘inappropriate’ relationship with inmate

Royal Bolton Hospital could be forced to make £5.5 million cuts next year.

End of the day, this Labour government has hiked up public sector pay massively* and over funded it, and also funded it beyond its worth/value (did u get involved in ‘agenda for change’, if u did I hope u feel ashamed of yourself. Raping the economy)

*because you slackers make up 20% of the workforce.

There’s nowt wrong with emptying pots of ****… ha ha, so why do you keep on about your job and your salary and now your future non contact with the **** cans???

From my experience, in respect of your comments and similar, I’ve come to the following conclusion, either:

1) you talk about your wage because no one else in your family has ever been in that same tax bracket.

Or

2 you talk about your wage because you are shocked that you earn that much!!!

So what is it? Your family scrubbers or jus you raping the tax payer?

Ps. My degree is so specialist that I’m not goin’ to tell you, because you could easily find out my details – that is even tho I didn’t go to UGLYAN or whereva your correspondence course was from R O F L!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HA HAAA !!!!!
