SMOKERS could struggle to get a date in Bolton, a survey has revealed.
One in four people would only go out with a non-smoker according to research carried out by NHS Smokefree.
After analysing The Bolton News' dating pages, and comparing them to pages from 10 years ago, experts have revealed 25 per cent of single people in the borough would like their prospective partners to be non-smokers compared to just seven per cent in 1997.
Andrea Crossfield, North-west regional tobacco programme manager, said: "This research confirms that smoking isn't sexy any more. With the recent introduction of the smokefree legislation in England there's never been a better time to go smokefree.
