STAFF at a medical centre are taking on the Manchester 10k run for the second consecutive year.
Dr George Ogden first completed the course solo two years ago, but the event has now become an annual challenge for the entire staff at Kearsley Medical Centre.
Seventeen are taking part this time round, and they are hoping to raise £2,000 for Bolton Hospice. The centre raised £1,200 for Marie Curie last year.
In preparation for the run, the centre's health trainer, Collette Walsh, has organised regular training sessions for the runners.
Dr Ogden said: "A lot of the people haven't done any physical activity at all, so our health trainer has her work cut out."
The 10k run takes place on May 18 and you can sponsor any of the runners www.justgiving.com/kearsleymedicalcentre.
