A TERRIFIED young woman jumped 20 feet from a window in a desperate bid to escape a suspected arson attack.
Ashley Mills, aged 21, and her flatmate, Debbie Monks, aged 26, were trapped in the living room of their first-floor flat when a blaze threatened to engulf their home.
Miss Mills threw herself out of the window and Miss Monks was rescued by firefighters just minutes later.
Miss Mills said: “I had to jump, I really felt it was a matter of life and death. We were trapped. I was terrified and felt as if I had no choice..”
The fire started at about 4.35am on Monday outside the entrance to the two-storey block of flats in Beatrice Mews, Horwich.
