BOLTON’S first youth poetry slam takes place at Bolton Central Library tomorrow night.
Originating in the United States, poetry slams are fun and dynamic poetry competitions that have become a global phenomenon.
Poets perform their work to a time limit and are given scores on content, style, delivery and audience response.
Bolton’s poetry slam competition will feature performers from The Phoenix Youth Theatre.
Mike Garry, regarded as Manchester’s premier performance poet, will act as a host for the evening.
The competition takes place from 6pm to 7.30pm in the Lecture Theatre at the library.
If you are aged 11 to 25 and want to reserve a free ticket, call 01204 332853 or call into the library.
