A PUB that became a magnet for underage drinkers after being flagged up on Facebook has been banned from trading and shut for three months.
Young people, many still at school, flocked to the Queens Head in Lee Lane, Horwich, after word spread on the social networking site that staff would serve them with alcohol.
A licensing hearing at Bolton Town Hall was told that the pub’s popularity with teen binge-drinkers caused months of misery for residents.
They saw young drunks urinating and vomiting in their gardens, vandalising property and brawling outside their homes.
A police raid sparked by the trouble revealed traces of cocaine in the women’s toilets and staff selling alcohol to under-18s.
Yesterday, councillors suspended the pub’s license for three-months after owners Scottish and Newcastle vowed to appoint a ‘trouble-shooter’ to clean up its act.

I have been around this area having a pint and it wasnt just this pub that served 1 or 2 underage , lots of them do for some reason as i was told, that local reseidents have been wanting this pub closed for years, why live move next to a pub if you dont like noise i say, but it seems that they set up there own cctv and pointed it at the pub,to capture anything that may happen, what sad people im told.Well yes certain things did happen as they do around pubs and if used by students who only a few were under age.The residents got there own way but i ask myself why move next to a pub that has been there for over 100years, begars belief.
