TOP comedian Dave Spikey will be the star guest at a celebration of amateur theatre in Bolton.
The co-writer and star of Phoenix Nights and Dead Man Weds will perform at the Bolton Amateur Theatre Societies' annual dinner in The Pennine Suite at the Last Drop Hotel on Friday, September 5 Bolton is the envy of many towns as it has the largest amateur theatre network in the UK and, once again, BATS are giving the readers of The Bolton News the chance to make their choice about the show they have enjoyed the most during the last year.
There have been more than 50 musicals, comedies and dramas performed over the past season, and you must now decide on the lucky recipients of the awards.
The Readers’ Choice Awards will be presented during Bolton's very own Oscars event for which the town's amateur theatre societies can still buy tickets at £23 each from BATS secretary Jason Crompton on 01204 306605.
He said: "It should be a fantastic evening and will provide an opportunity for members of the town’s amateur stage community to celebrate the exceptional quality of shows and plays that they have staged throughout the year."
