A MAGICAL open air-show will celebrate 200 years of Moses Gate Country Park on Saturday.

The picturesque setting will provide the backdrop to The Return of the Swan Princess.

The production will feature giant puppets, music and lanterns before ending with a spectacular firework show.

Children from Masefield, Mytham Road and Bowness primary schools in Little Lever, and SS Peter and Paul’s Primary School in Bolton have helped to create the artwork to accompany the story. Pupils from Harper Green Secondary School have been involved in the drama production.

The event has been organised by Bolton Council with the Moses Gate Country Park User Group and has been funded by a £10,000 Awards for All National Lottery Grant.

Moses Gate Country Park is in Hall Lane in Farnworth. There is limited parking and people are being asked to use public transport where possible, although there will be dedicated parking for blue badge holders.

For more information on the event starting, at 7.30pm, call Rock Hall Visitor Centre on 01204 334343.
