YOU know you have a good friend when she offers to shave her hair off as a show of support.
And that's just what Val Turner has done.
Bev Ridding, aged 48, who lives in Horwich, was diagnosed with the cancer in January and has lost her hair following chemotherapy.
Mrs Turner, aged 63, decided to have her hair shaved off to show her support — and to raise money for the Churchill Unit support group at the Royal Bolton Hospital at the same time.
The final total has not yet been calculated, but it is expected to be about £400.
Mrs Turner, from Radcliffe, said: “It was difficult to see Bev going through everything with the cancer.
“When she lost her hair I decided to support her and do the same. I am really glad I did it because it is for a good cause. I am shocked with my new look but happy with it.”
